Acidum IV is an advanced professional formula developed to support the elimination of various fungal strains, including Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Candida. The product is also designed to support the reduction of persistent fungal forms, helping to minimise the risk of recurrence.

The formula combines the action of pyruvic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, and rosmarinic acid, which are able to effectively penetrate the skin’s hydrolipid barrier. This allows the acid complex to act at the level of the epidermis and deeper skin structures, supporting antifungal care and helping to create conditions unfavourable for fungal regrowth.

Proteins that form the structural components of fungal cells may be disrupted, which helps limit their ability to multiply and survive.

Active Ingredients & Their Benefits

• Salicylic Acid – Due to its lipid-soluble properties, salicylic acid is able to penetrate deeply into the lipid layer. It helps support the elimination of the environment in which fungi develop and relieves discomfort often associated with fungal conditions, such as itching, burning, and flaking skin.

• Lactic Acid – In the applied concentration, lactic acid provides exfoliating action on the epidermis and keratinised layers of the skin. It also helps inhibit the growth of fungi, including yeasts and dermatophytes commonly associated with foot skin infections.

• Pyruvic Acid – An alpha-keto acid that acts on both the epidermis and dermis. Thanks to its low pKa, it is able to penetrate deeply into the skin. It demonstrates natural antifungal-supportive properties by disrupting the metabolism of fungal cells, including dermatophytes and yeasts, which helps reduce their growth and survival.

• Rosmarinic Acid – Helps reduce inflammation and swelling that often accompany fungal infections, particularly in cases involving the nails, such as onychomycosis. It also demonstrates strong antibacterial and antifungal-supportive properties while soothing and supporting the regeneration of treated nail tissue.

How to Use

Acidum IV is intended for professional use directly on the cleansed nail plate and nail bed, following appropriate preparation and cleaning of the pathologically changed nail plate, as a product supporting antifungal therapy.

• Apply directly to the cleansed nail plate and nail bed according to the professional procedure.

• Do not apply more frequently than once every 2 weeks.

• For external use only.

• After the procedure, apply the Custodia IV pH-balancing preparation to restore skin comfort and balance.
